MRI-RADS IN 10 CASES

Standardization, accuracy and decision-making: RADS systems in MRI practice

Discover the potential of RADS in MRI: standardization of findings, structured reporting and their impact on more accurate diagnoses and more effective clinical decisions

Overview

Since 1993, Reporting and Data Systems (RADS), first proposed by the American College of Radiology, have proliferated as a standardized method for reporting on imaging findings. RADS, applied to MRI and other modalities, are meant to reduce the variability in diagnostic reports, to facilitate communication in radiology and to provide a framework for clinical decision making and patient management. Despite the effort that has been made, few RADS have been implemented into clinical practice while most are not yet generally used and without any documented evidence on efficacy and efficiency in the MRI workflow. The implementation of RADS requires standardized terminology, a probability-based diagnostic approach, image assessment finalized to categorization, and structured reporting. In addition, the rapidly-evolving world of MRI as a multiparametric modality requires constant RADS reassessment and eventual adaptations for improved accuracy.

Objectives

As a result of attending the course, participants will be able to: Describe the state-of-the-art of all currently available RADS used in MRI. Discover the purpose of developed MRI RADS and how it affects clinical decisions. Interact with referring clinicians on challenging cases. Discuss image interpretation and error mitigation approaches. Integrate RADS in standard MRI reports. Recognize opportunities as well as limitations and challenges of scoring systems.

Course Description

The live training event is organized to allow leaders experienced in the use of specific RADS scoring systems to give a 90 minute presentation using clear as well as challenging interactive cases. A total of 18 hours of interactive cases is planned throughout the event.
